Dusty's Grill opened here in Dublin three weeks ago. I walked in the day before they opened, introduced myself, and told the owner I would be back.
I did come back, more than once. Every time, the place was full. Nobody had a minute to talk about a website, and I was not going to interrupt people who were busy feeding a room full of paying customers.
So my wife and I ate there instead.
The food was fantastic.
On the way out I told the owner's daughter, who I had met before, that I wanted to help them.
The Conversation At The Register
When the owner checked us out, I told him plainly that he needed to be on Google, even if he never hired me. No Google Business Profile, no website. A restaurant that good was invisible to anyone who had not already walked through the door.
He told me to come back early one day, before the rush, and we would talk.
The Demo
Before that conversation, I built a demo site for Dusty's Grill. When I went back and showed it to him, he loved it.
Then one of the ladies working there said something that settled the whole thing. Customers had been complaining that they could not find the restaurant's phone number. People wanted to call. They had no way to do it.
He signed up for the website and the Google Business Profile on the spot.
Less Than Twenty Four Hours
I wanted this done quickly, so I did it quickly. I registered the domain, converted the demo into the full production site at [dustysgrill.com], and created their [Google Business Profile].
The profile verified immediately. After the verification failures I wrote about in my last field note, I did not expect that, and I will take it.
I also left a spare review tent on the counter so customers could scan it and leave a Google review on their way out.
This post is being written less than twenty four hours after all of that started.
The Numbers
Four Google reviews are already on the profile.
The website has 74 page views across 72 sessions, with an average of 51 seconds on the page, and zero visits filtered as bots. Those numbers come from Upveyor, my own analytics system, so no third party saw a single one of those visitors.

Where the traffic came from:
- Direct visits: 48
- Google: 14
- Facebook: 8
- Bing: 1
Fourteen visitors from Google on a domain less than a day old almost certainly came through the new Business Profile, since a brand new site has had no time to rank on its own. The Facebook traffic means the link is already being shared. The direct visits are people typing the address, tapping a saved link, or coming from an app that does not pass along where they came from.
ChatGPT and Claude have already found them too.
What Changed
The food did not change. The service did not change. Dusty's Grill was every bit as good the day before I built the site.
What changed is that people looking for it can now find it. The phone number customers were asking for is on Google and on the website. The reviews customers wanted to leave have a place to go. A restaurant that was only known to the people already inside it is now visible to everyone searching for a place to eat.
This Was Not An SEO Strategy
None of this was SEO the way it usually gets sold. No content plan, no keyword research, no months of slowly moving the needle and hoping it moves.
This was execution, plain and simple. A domain registered correctly. A website built and configured correctly. A Google Business Profile set up and verified correctly. A way for happy customers to leave a review.
Proper configuration solves most of the problems I find with a business's online presence. In a town of a few thousand people, it took less than a day to make a difference.
The Foundation Connection
Most of what I write about is what goes wrong. This is what it looks like when the Digital Foundation goes in right from the start: a verified Google Business Profile, a website built for the business, and a simple way to collect reviews.
None of it is complicated. It just has to be done, and done correctly.
If you are in Dublin and hungry, go see them, but get there early.
I am happy to help them, and I am looking forward to watching them grow.
